This is it was a
course I ran briefly in 2002. It was designed as a two hour
course to change your life! It focused on 'Being Present'.
It worked well, but I only ran it three times. Here are
some saying that give a flavour of what it was about.
“THISISIT!”
Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is a Mystery. And today? Today is a gift.
That’s why we call it
the Present. Babatunde Olatunji
There is no greater sin than desire, No greater curse than
discontent, No greater misfortune than wanting something
for oneself. Therefore he who knows that enough is enough
will always have enough. Tao Te Ching

it comes soon enough. Albert Einstein
The ability to be in the
moment is a major component of mental wellness.

of my life trying either to relive the past or experience
the future before it arrives, I have come to believe that
in between these two extremes lies Peace. Anon
There is no distance on earth
as far away as yesterday. Robert Nathan
Happiness is wanting what you
have. Anon
We crucify ourselves between
two thieves: regret for yesterday and fear of
tomorrow. Fulton Oursler
Don’t let yesterday use
up too much of today.
Cherokee Indian Proverb
When one door closes another
door opens: but we so often look so long and so regretfully
upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which
open for us.
Alexander Graham Bell
No yesterdays are ever wasted
for those who give themselves to today. Brendan
Francis
If a man examine carefully his
thoughts he will be surprised to find how much he lives in
the future. His well-being is always

You can clutch the past so
tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to
embrace the present. Jan Glidewell
I have realised that the past

present, which is what there is and all there is.
Alan Watts
The past is a good place to
visit but I don’t want to live there. Anon
Tomorrow is no place to place
your better days.
Dave Matthews
Eternity is not something that
begins after you are dead. It is going on all the
time. Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Rejoice in the things that are
present; all else is beyond thee. Montaigne
We can easily manage is we
only take, each day, the burden appointed to it. But the
load will be too heavy for us if we carry yesterday’s
burden over again today, and then add the burden of the
morrow before we are required to bear it. John
Newton
Forever is composed of
‘Nows’. Emily Dickinson
The difference between missing
out on life and living in the moment is as little as one

One problem with gazing too
frequently into the past is that we may turn round to find
the future has run out on us. Michael Cibenko
When I am anxious it is
because I am living in the future. When I am depressed it
is because I am living in the past. Anon
One of the most tragic things
I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off
living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden
over the horizon – instead of enjoying the roses that
are blooming outside our windows today. Dale
Carnegie
I got the blues thinking about
the future, so I left off and made some marmalade.
It’s amazing how it cheers one up to shred oranges

muscles, causing you to bump into people not going your
way. Edna Ferber

happily-ever-after on a day-to-day basis. Margaret
Bonnano

Finish each day and be done
with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and
absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with
too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
As if you could kill time
without injuring eternity.

it to repeat

Unborn To-morrow, and dead Yesterday,
Why fret about them if To-day be sweet!

not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the
present moment.
